Where can I go to hear that guy play?

Text Box: This is where I will put notices up of where I will be playing. Of course, you can always hear me play every Sunday morning at St. Timothy Presbyterian Church, where I am the pianist for the church.

I will be playing the lobby organ at the Fox Theatre for the following shows of “Sesame Street Live: Super Grover, Ready for Action” (lobby organ is used one hour prior to show until the start of the show, and again during the 15-minute intermission.)

Wednesday, February 14th (Valentine’s Day!) - 11am show
Thursday, February 15th - 11am show
Friday, February 16th - 11am show
Saturday, February 17th - 11am show
Sunday, February 18th - 2pm & 5:30pm shows
Thursday, February 22nd - 11am show
Friday, February 23rd - 11am & 7pm shows
Saturday, February 24th - 2pm & 5:30pm shows
Sunday, February 25th - 2pm & 5:30pm shows

I will be playing the organ at the Redford Theatre for some movies coming up as well. If you haven’t been to the Redford, you must go there. The theatre is beautiful, the organ is perfectly suited for the room it is in, and is one of the few places that you can go see a classic movie still shown on the BIG screen. And the award-winning concession stand is great … it even still uses real butter on the popcorn! The playing schedule is as follows for the Redford:
Organ is used for 30 minutes prior to the movie
Organ is used again for the 15-20 minute intermission
If I am playing, I try to do “house exit” music after the movie is over for about 5 minutes. I then remain at the organ console so that you can come up and get a closer look at the console, ask me questions about the organ and the theatre, AND I can also take you up into one of the pipe chambers so that you can see some of the pipes, drums, sound effects, and all the things that make the organ make music. Not bad for a $4 movie ticket! The upcoming movies that I will be playing for are:

	Friday, February 16th - 8pm “Pillow Talk”
	Saturday, February 17th - 8pm “Pillow Talk”
Please note - due to a wedding, I will not be playing the 2pm matinee for this movie.

Friday, March 2nd - 8pm - “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”
	Saturday, March 3rd - 2pm & 8pm - “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”
This is one of my favorite musicals.

DUELING ORGANS RETURNS!
It has been a long time since Dueling Organs has been in Detroit. This summer on July 8th, it returns. What is Dueling Organs you may ask? Well, it is a special organ concert to experience. Not only are there two organists (Johnny Kash and myself), but there are two organs.

Johnny Kash is a internationally-renown organists, having played organs here in America and overseas. He is the organist at Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church in Detroit (Westside). You can find out more on Johnny by going to my Myspace page and scrolling down. He is listed under my friends.

The concert will take place at Johnny’s church on Sunday, July 8, 2007 at 4pm. I will be at my Allen Theatre Organ and Johnny will be at an Allen Classical Organ. Please note that since we will have both consoles up front of the church, the church’s pipe organ in the balcony will not be used.

During the concert, we will be performing duets and solos. Organ solos are very common at organ concerts, but to have two organs and two organists playing at the same time is a very rare occasion.

And the best thing about this concert? IT’S ABSOLUTELY FREE! That’s right. Come out for a fun afternoon of great music. No admission charge. A free-will offering will be taken, but there is no charge for the concert. So mark your calendars now for this unique and fun concert!
